Yesterday, Feb. 9th was Wilson "Snowflake" Bentley's birthday and guess what it snowed. He loved to study snow crystals more than anything in the world. He would take pictures of snow crystals so he could capture its beauty and share with others. Today we read the story, Snowflake Bentley by Jacqueline Martin and discussed how Wilson Bentley said that not one snowflake was just alike. The students then went to "Make a Snowflake" website and created their own. The students saved their snowflake to their computers. Then opened their snowflake in Microsoft Paint and created a masterpiece. We were even able to bring in Geometric figures and line of symmetry!!!! They loved it..... As you can tell below, not one snowflake is just alike!!!
